Sketch/colour date: 20040412.
Medium: sketched straight with ballpoint pen, then markers, with very mild colourpencils.
Haven't used reference to draw for a long time now. So for a change, the general pose was referenced from a photo, and then improvised.
Happy Birthday to Fujiwara Motoo (Bump of Chicken)!
Gorgeous color! I love the warm tones. Energy pulsates in the swirlies in the negative space by his head and in the crazy lines on his shirt. I love the motion, the color, the shapes, the profile, the composition, the form, everything.
Plus, I'm a major sucker for marker, and especially marker and mixed media.

Love the pose, you pulled it off gloriously! The color is absolutely radiant, I love it! The microphone looks so real it's kinda scaring me.. *backs away as picture comes alive to eat her... or something*
I'm sure you enjoy them more when I'm out of my mind at the point of typage.... just hit a telephone pole for the second time in a month.. only my da was driving, and a lady ran a stopsign, forcing us off the road... brain's a bit mush from stress @.@
Thanks for posting your art, it relaxes me.
Wow.. That's really good. I love the almost hot feeling I get from the piccy... like the heat of the bodies all in that place watching Fujiwara-san. ^ ^ This turned out awesome.
wow~ love the colors, it does give it the feeling of a live performance: hot and energetic! And I really love the profile. I think he looks very hot like that. And I noticed that you used black borders a lot, does your marker die on you ?

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
